I bought a used 2022 Polestar 2. The car keeps slowing down for no reason on the highway, even when there are other cars nearby. I'm not sure if I can trust Autopilot anymore. It's happening more often. It doesn't seem to be a problem when there are fewer cars on the highway. I checked the software and it's running 1.9 version. Asked him prior to the update if he encountered this issue but he said he did not. Maybe the software version is causing it.

I've also noticed Autopilot being a bit more erratic since the last update.
It's definitely made me more cautious, especially with the aggressive drivers in the city. I've been limiting my Autopilot usage to longer trips on less crowded roads. It's just not worth the risk with the way people drive around.

That's not the Autopilot. It's the ACC and Pilot assist. Don't rely too much on it in heavy traffic, and be ready to step on the gas if you need to. These driving aids work best on highways when there's not much traffic.

This is way worse than it used to be. Before, it wasn't a big deal. Now, it's like a new driver is learning how to use the gas pedal they're all over the place! It's making me feel carsick with all the sudden speeding up and slowing down.

That phantom braking issue on your used Polestar 2 is crazy especially on the highway!

It's good you're running version 1.9, but it sounds like even with the update, it's still happening. The fact that it seems worse in traffic makes me wonder if it's related to the car's sensors or how Autopilot is interpreting the data from other vehicles. It's possible the previous owner genuinely didn't experience it, or maybe it's a developing issue. Since you've already checked the software, I'd strongly recommend contacting Polestar support directly. Phantom braking is a safety issue, and they need to know about it. It could be a hardware problem, or maybe even a bug that they're not aware of yet. Don't rely on Autopilot until you get it checked out.
