I was browsing the Polestar 3 Facebook groups. I saw a post of the build sheet for their car. It showed a build date, and the VIN had an "R" in the 10th position, indicating it's a 2024 model. Makes sense, since Polestar usually switches model years around late April (Week 16 or 17).

Out of curiosity, I went back to check the VIN for my own order, and it has an "S" in the 10th position, meaning it's marked as a 2025 model year.

Does anyone know what the exact cut-off week is for the 2024 vs. 2025 Launch Editions?
If my car is a 2025 model year, does that mean it comes with the updates Polestar is adding for 2025, like active noise cancellation?

It seems like there are 2024 and 2025 Launch Editions out there, but would the 2025 ones include any hardware or production changes? I’d be surprised if Polestar transitioned model years without implementing the physical updates immediately, but maybe the changes roll out later in the year? Would love to hear any insights or if anyone else has checked their VINs for a clue.

I also have an "S" in the 10th position, and my last four digits are 2200. When I checked my VIN online, it confirmed the car as a 2025 model year. Mine was completed in May, so it seems like the switch happened around that time.

Polestar typically switches model years around Week 16 or 17, but the exact cut-off for the 2024 vs. 2025 Launch Editions isn't clear. Updates like active noise cancellation might be included, but production changes could roll out later.
