LiDAR does seem like a big deal, but it’s understandable to be skeptical, especially since self-driving tech is still evolving. I have heard that while LiDAR provides a lot of detailed information about the environment, it might not solve all the challenges that come with real-world driving situations.
It is definitely more reliable than regular cameras for 3D mapping and object detection, but I wonder if it really translates to better safety on the road. Some say the device is more accurate and functional than cameras or other sensors. I guess, you can get another perspective once you use it.
