My Polestar recently had a parking assist issue. I took it to the dealership, and they found a physically damaged sensor. However, I'm not convinced this is the root cause. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?

What do you mean by 'you are not convinced this is the root cause'? If it is a sensor, then there is a pretty solid reason when you have an issue with the parking assist.

Just had to get my car's parking sensor swapped out under warranty coz it was totally faulty. But guess what? Even after that, the problem stuck around, and it turned out the real culprit was a pesky software glitch that needed a reinstall.

Sorry I didn't explain it well. The error wasn't cleared after the sensor was replaced. Luckily, I was able to use my OBD scanner to clear the code.

My OBD came to the rescue. Luckily, it cleared the code. Car's been doing good so far.

I got you now! In the end, your car is an example that software glitches can be tricky and can cause problems even after hardware replacements. I wish you safe rides.
