Trouble with Google Assistant automations in Polestar 3

I’ve run into a snag with Google Assistant in my Polestar 3. I’ve set up an automation to open and close my garage door and it works flawlessly on my iPhone and iPad. But when I try the same thing in the car Google Assistant doesn’t seem to recognize the automation.

Interestingly, direct voice commands to control accessories work fine, it’s just the automation that doesn’t. Is this a limitation of the Polestar’s Google Assistant integration, or am I missing something?

There's a kinda janky way to do it though. You can make a fake switch in another app, and then tell Google to use that switch.

Hey, I'm guessing you don't have an iPhone since you're using Google Automations. But if you use Apple HomeKit with a smart garage door opener and Apple CarPlay, a button for your garage door shows up on the CarPlay home screen when you'r near home. It's pretty handy!
